Our fostering process, support and guidance
Fosterers are the backbone of our rescue and we are always glad to welcome more. The more fosterers we have, the more dogs we can save. Watch the two videos below to learn how we support our fosterers in this vital role.

How to apply to foster
Email [email protected] to request a foster application form. We will send you a link to our online form to complete and submit. Our team will then be in touch to arrange a homecheck, and once that is done we will let you know whether you have been added to the active foster list.
When a dog arrives in rescue and looks like a good match for you, we will get in touch to arrange transport to your home. You will receive a foster pack with bedding, harnesses, a lead and food, and the dog will wear a Barney’s ID tag until they are adopted.
Our foster co-ordinator will stay in regular contact to offer support, and our founder, a qualified behavioural therapist, is available for training advice.
As a rescue we promote positive reinforcement training only, and we ask all our fosterers to follow the same approach.
