“Only the best for
our best friends...”
We need your help to save little dogs! You can help in many ways. You can foster a dog. You can give money to help us.
You can also volunteer your time. We need help with home checks. We need drivers to move dogs. We need help with office work too. Every little bit helps the dogs.
WE'RE A NON PROFIT COMMUNITY INTEREST DOG RESCUE
We rescue small breeds (and very occasionally large dogs, and cats!) and place them with foster families until they are ready to be adopted.
We love people who foster dogs. They help us save more dogs. We need more foster homes. You can help a dog!
Fostering is very important work. We will support you.
Our fosterer’s help assess our rescue dogs, build their confidence, provide training to help the dog re-socialise or gain skills and ensure any medical needs are attended to.
Our fosterer’s are from all walks of life and offer lots of love and support to help our rescues.
Want to foster a dog?
Ask for the foster form. We will send you a link. Fill it out online.
We will then check your home. If it's good, you'll be on our list. When a dog needs you, we'll bring it to you. You get supplies and help.
We will stay in touch to help you. Our dog expert can help with training. We only use kind training. We need you to do the same.
You'll see new dogs posted on Barney's Facebook group. Foster homes share updates so you learn about the dog.
When a dog is ready, they'll post an adoption notice. You can apply if you meet their rules. Just use the link in the post.
Barney's is run by helpers who don't get paid. All money goes to help the dogs. They get shots, food, and beds. You can imagine the cost!
You fill out an online form to apply. The team checks it and answers in 10 days. You can try again if you don't get a dog.
If you are picked, you give them papers. They check your home. You meet the dog.
You sign a paper and pay a fee. Then you take your new dog home!
We appreciate your support through transporting and homechecking for us and we are always in need of volunteers.
It’s not just the front-end either, any volunteer support on admin, bid-writing, and findraising really helps us support all our dogs.
Do you want to help by checking homes or driving dogs?
Ask for a volunteer form. You can fill it out.
Do you want to help with office work or get money for the dogs?
Email your resume and a letter.
Tell us how you can help. We need your help!
We are always happy to accept donations whether they are financial, food, blankets, collars and leads, coats, anything that helps our rescue dogs.
If you have items that you would like to donate please email us so that we can arrange collection.
Sometimes, dogs come to us and can't be adopted. This happens for a few reasons. They might be very sick. Or, they might have been hurt before.
These dogs need special, long-term care. They live in foster homes now. They need people to help pay for their care. You can be a sponsor!
“Eddie after his groom today
Sharron
- I’ll never be able to repay you for trusting us in adopting him. He’s amazing."
“Rio now into his 6th month with us and a pleasure it has been to see him change from a very nervous dog to a super friendly and playful dog, thank you Barneys for letting us adopt him.”
“He has settled in brilliantly and keeps us entertained with his antics and mischief every day. It’s hard to believe he has only been with us 4 wks, seems like much longer. Thank you to everyone at Barney’s for choosing us as his forever home and to Cooper for bringing such joy to our family xx”
